In Matthew 28:18 we read, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in the earth.” These are the words of Jesus, and the question I would like to ask is ” Do we truly believe Jesus has this kind of authority as Christians?” The reason I am asking this question it is because although we have spent so many years within the walls of the Church reading, studying, and sharing the scripture, from what I have seen, I often wondered if we truly believe in the authority of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in the earth.” Meaning, he is the only authority we are to obey as Christians, yet when I walk into a building where the message of God is being preached with such excitement, I still find among many who are claiming the name of Christ, we are still lacking the fruit of taking the gospel throughout the world, and if we are, we are going about it without faith.
Now, if we believe Jesus is above all authority and kings, and that he is the final authority for us Christians, why are we not working together to take the kingdom message of God to the world? We may say we are, but from what I am seeing, those objecting to the kingdom of God are currently sitting in the seats of power that should have been in the hands of God’s people.
It seems the seed of the serpent is winning this battle of establishing a kingdom on earth, we know he has been trying to accomplish for thousands of years, and just maybe, this call is for us Christians to come together that we might prevent him from establishing what he desire, an eternal kingdom and rule over the human race.
Isaiah 9:7 reads and prophecies, “Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. And Isaiah at the end added, “The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” And who would you say this prophecy is about? No one but Jesus to which you will agree as a Christian, and yet I have a question, “how do we believe Christ kingdom will increase and will come into establishment?”
Well, if we look at what Jesus is doing in Matthew 28:19, we will see that it will take you and I doing our job and playing our role for the government of Christ to increase and for his kingdom to be established. Why do you believe Jesus is sending us out, Matthew 28:19, “Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” First it is for us to bring disciples into the kingdom and government of Christ, and secondly, it is to grant them the authority to also go out and make disciples increasing the government of Christ.
Now, if we are concerned with what may follow with us doing our job and playing our role in this current world and kingdom. As Christians, we are not to be taken by surprise when we happened upon persecution, but are to understand we are a kingdom within a kingdom working at drawing people away from the kingdom of Satan. As a result, we are to expect resistance and persecution, and are to be bold knowing we are not of this kingdom, but are called and sent by the one with absolute authority.
So as we go about our faith, and our coming together, let us work these things out among ourselves and make up our minds to stand in faith knowing we will face persecution. Because if we understand and do believe, we will take the fight to the world and the kingdom, and seed of the serpent whose goal it is to establish a kingdom in place of the kingdom of Christ because in the end, if we work hard at the kingdom of Christ, we might bring to pass sooner than later the prophecy of Daniel.
Daniel 7:21-22, “I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and overpowering them, until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favour of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.” According to Daniel, if we believe, we shall take the kingdoms of the world away from the Antichrist, and the way we will do this it is by us working together proclaiming the gospel… Open the Series
