Reading this verse found in Psalms 2:1 “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” If you were to ask professing Christians, what was the original sin of humanity? Many will reply saying, “disobedience.” But if you were to ask them in return, “In what way did we disobey God?” They will also reply saying. “We disobeyed God by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
However, take that to the world, and they will tell you it’s nothing but imaginary. And because of these simple and general answers provided. Those we are trying to convince Jesus is the way the truth, and the life will refuse to believe the gospel.
But can we blame them, when we can’t even as Christians explain the reality of the bible? No, we can’t. However, if we were to look carefully at the word of God, the testimonies of the past, and the life of our ancestors, and fathers who believed before us. We can find the truth and the proper answer to these and other questions.
Therefore, as we look back in history, and for us to explain the reality of the bible to those refusing to believe. We need to understand what the original sin of humanity was so that we might win over many in the world for Jesus Christ.
So, what was the original sin? The original sin was what the blessed man understood, he understood there was a need for him to repent of his sins. The reality for which he was in danger of being destroyed by God. And why he had accepted his fate, and God’s just punishment for what he had done.
And in complement to Psalm one, in Psalm two we see the original sin was why upon receiving God’s word, law, and or instruction. The blessed man took delight in the law of God for his life. He understood, because of his rebellion, God was against him, and because God was against him, he was about to face the wrath of God sent against him.
The scriptures record for us that, “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” And looking back at the history of our ancestors, the blessed man understood his original sin was an act of war against the kingdom and throne of God. The rebellion was to join hands with the enemy to overthrow the King of kings, and Lord of lords.
Adam did not only eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Instead, he rebelled against God, his act was the act of treason because to defy the king’s command was to rebel against the king. And by standing in league with the enemy of God, who had beforehand vainly attempted to overthrow God. Adam declares war against God with the enemy of God.
Together with the enemy, Adam and his wife agreed, God was a liar, and because he was a liar. They chose to rebel believing a lie that they can become a god having no need of God, and that the kingdom should be theirs.
Out of that rebellion, came a rebellious people, who up until this day has created an empire that has been at war with the kingdom of God. And becoming children of disobedience, are at this moment plotting with the enemy to overthrow the will of God in the earth.
Nevertheless, God is calling out to the world to halt their rebellion, and upon receiving God’s call. The blessed man repented turning his life over to the King of king
