Hello everyone, my name is Kevin, and welcome to our podcast and series on the book of Psalm chapter One. In this series, our hope is to shed some light on the hidden message of Psalm one in relation to the theme of the bible so that we might understand how we are to prepare for the future and the return of Jesus the King, that is Jesus Christ.
The hope is by the end of this series we will come to understand the bible and why we are sent to proclaim the kingdom of God and are told to wait patiently for the return of Jesus Christ while suffering persecution in this current world and kingdom.
In this series and podcast, we will share scriptures taken from many parts of the bible as we discuss Psalm one, and as we uncover the mystery and message of Psalm one in relationship with those scriptures, our hope is that you will come to understand why we chose to title this first series in our podcast “Preparing for the Season.”
Now, as we focus our minds on Psalm one, there are several questions we will seek to answer as we uncover the message of the Psalmist. And those questions we will seek to answer are these:
- What does it mean to be blessed?
- Why was the righteous avoiding the counsel of the ungodly?
- What was and is the counsel of the ungodly?
- Why did the righteous take delight in the law?
- Why was the righteous meditating on the Law?
- Why was the righteous said to be planted by rivers of water?
- What was the season in which he brought forth fruit?
- Why did the righteous prosper in the season in which he brought forth fruit?
- Why was the ungodly said to be like chaff in the wind?
- Why did the ungodly fall in the judgment?
- And what is the congregation of the righteous?
And as we go through Psalm one, we will seek to answer these and many questions using scripture examples taken from the bible we believe we are to be aware of if we are going to survive the coming season of our Lord’s return.
Psalms 1:1-6 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law doth he meditates day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore, the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
