Bringing Forth Fruit

This entry is part 10 of 11 in the series Psalm one

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode in our podcast and series on the book on Psalm one titled preparing for the Season. Today’s podcast is titled, “Bringing forth Fruit.” And in today’s podcast, we’ll touch on three questions, and the first question we’ll seek to answer is, “Why did the righteous prosper in the season in which he brought forth fruit?” And our answer to that question is based on what we have so far shared, he prospered because he made arrangements according to God’s instruction which is the law revealed to him.

The second question we will now answer is, “Why was the ungodly described to by like chaff in the wind?” and our answer to that question is also based upon what we have shared. He is described to be like chaff in the wind because he was unprepared after understanding God was about to act against his vain counsel.

And to answer the third question, “Why did the ungodly fall in the judgment?” The answer to that question is it’s because after hearing the proclamation of judgment against their evil counsel, the ungodly failed to believe, and due to his lack of faith in the law of God, his failure to repent, and because he refuses to delight himself in the law of God, he was taken away in the judgment because he made no preparation. Instead, he went out in pursuit of his vain counsel to overthrow God by attempting to destroy God’s people.

But when it comes to the righteous and those choosing to believe and are choosing to delight themselves in the law of God. The bible said we are not to be taken by surprise when it comes to the day appointed for judgment, and why? Because we are called the children of the day and not children of the night.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-5But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

And because we are not of the darkness, it means we are to be aware and prepared for the day to come when God shall unleash his wrath against his enemies who are unprepared because of their stubbornness to repent of their rebellion. 1 Thessalonians 5:6 “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.” Because unless we become practical men and women in regard to the coming season and return of Jesus Christ, we will be caught up in the overthrow of the ungodly.

Matthew 24:38-39For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
