This entry is part 5 of 8 in the series The Coming Season

As Christians, we know we are born in sin, and this knowledge is something we came to accept based on what took place in the past. We accept this truth because it is a story based on facts because it is the story of real people telling their story and what took place during their lifetime.

Now, we say Adam was the one to have written down the first four chapters of the bible and that it is the telling of his story after his fall. We believe the story of Genesis came after the fall because Adam was led to believe he could become a god having no need of God, but after realizing he was deceived and that it was the plan of Satan found on the pages of Isaiah 14:12-15; he then gave Lucifer the title of a serpent.

But this was not to say Lucifer, or Satan as he is known to be called today was a snake or serpent capable of language, instead, it was the title bestowed on him because of his nature. Lucifer is known by many names, but if we were to investigate each name by which he is called today we will find none of the names given to Lucifer means anything good.

For example, the name Satan means deceiver, the word devil can mean wretch, but when we look at the name Lucifer its meaning is to say he is the bright and morning star. But after deceiving Adam and causing him to come under the penalty of God’s wrath, why would Adam then call Lucifer by this wonderful name. But when we look at the human side of the story understanding this is the story of a person of history who had experienced a fall through deception, we then understand how we came by the word serpent found on the pages of Genesis chapters three.

As we have said before, Lucifer earned the title of serpent because of his nature and ability to lie and deceive his way into whatever he desires and achieve. And his plan from the beginning, and will always be until the end, is to sit on the throne of God. That is why when we came to chapters three of Genesis and read the story on how God came and judge Adam and his wife. The promise was made that God would destroy the government of the seed of the serpent, and in its place restore the kingdom of God on earth.

First, God told Lucifer he will not prosper in his attempt to establish an eternal kingdom on earth, he will try in every generation on earth to establish a kingdom, but at the height of those kingdoms he will fail. Genesis 3:14, “And the Lord God said unto the serpent, because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:”

Secondly, God told Satan, in the end of all things when God would have redeemed those willing to obey him, God will through a son of Adam establish an eternal kingdom that will destroy his final attempt in establishing his kingdom on earth. Genesis 3:15, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

What was and is the plan of Satan, it is to sit on the throne of God, and what was Adam’s sin, it was to become a god, and together they have brought judgment upon the earth. Satan said in his heart Isaiah 14:13-14 “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Highest.” And working through man, Satan will seek and to accomplish his will and kingdom, a kingdom that will be destroyed by the coming of Christ.

And what happened to Satan the first time he made his first attempt of achieving his goal of establishing a kingdom of his own? God came in and put an end to his plans and provide a way out of judgment for the children of Adam. And on the pages of Isaiah 14:15 we can draw from what took place in the garden, and what will take place in the end of the world upon the return of Jesus the King.

Isaiah 14:14-15 reads, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Highest. But then a voice came back saying to Lucifer, “Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. And in Genesis 3:14-15 we can hear an echo of history flowing down to us in this age and time for us to know how the end will come.

“And the Lord God said unto the serpent because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And to show the contempt that will be between the children of God and the children of the world working with Lucifer to achieve his vain goal. God said to Lucifer, “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

So, when we come to the statement of Jesus, Jesus we know is the seed of the woman saying in John 15:19, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” We can then connect this statement to an old enmity that is between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman who is Christ, and those who would come out of the world to serve Christ.

Because as along as we are in the world, the world will hate us because we are identifying with Jesus our king. And that is why we are to keep ourselves apart from the world and not compromise our position in the coming kingdom of God. For the promise of God is from the beginning to restore his kingdom, a promise repeated by Isaiah in Isaiah 9:7.

“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. And the scripture adds, “The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Because God is determined and has made up his mind on account of the enmity between his son and the son of perdition to come and bring down the mountain of the enemy the government of the enemy.

But until then, Jesus told us in John 15:20, “Remember the word that I said unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” Because the world we now live in is under the leadership of the enemy only by God allowing it because of man’s rebellion. However, in the end we with Jesus will put an end to this empire of Lucifer’s.

This is the prophecy revealed to Daniel, Enoch, and many other prophets. Daniel wrote, Daniel 7:21-22 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Highest; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”

There will be a battle, and currently we are facing persecution because of the grace of God allowing the nations time to repent and be saved before that great and notable day of the Lord. And during that time the saints will come under heavy attack because of the policies of the Antichrist and those in support of the Antichrist.” I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.” He will prevail through his unjust policies and law.

However, as it was revealed to Daniel the saints at the final call will receive the command to take the kingdom and when that call is made, we will fulfill the prophecy of Jude and Enoch for the fight against the saints will not prosper but for a brief time “Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Highest; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.”

Revelation 19:11-15 And I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
