Wait On The Lord

What is the reality facing the world, and why did Jesus sent us out into the world to proclaim his gospel, and considering those questions, what is the message of the gospel? And while there are many more questions to be asked, let us look at why Jesus asks us not to fret or worry ourselves considering the ways of the wicked.

But what are the ways of the wicked? The ways of the wicked according to the word of God is to destroy the people of God in an attempt to destroy and oppose the coming kingdom of God, and knowing we will face the wrath of the wicked, David wrote:

Psalms 37:1 “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.” But why are we not to worry about the ways and plans of the wicked, whose desire it is to persecute and destroy us, and to oppose the kingdom of God to come?

Verse two of Psalm 37 answers this question for us. And it is because, in time to come, God will deal with the ways of the wicked, he will utterly destroy their ways, the wicked will perish, and because of this truth, we are to stand firm in this hope to come.

Psalms 37:2For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.” But why is God sharing these things with us, the hope that one day the wicked will give an account for what they have done and are doing against the citizens of his coming kingdom? God is sharing these things with us because he understands our pain, our anger to avenge and defend our pride and faith in him. But so that he might be justified in his right to destroy the works of the wicked.

God is asking his people to remain patient as he prepares himself to judge the kingdoms of this world. Therefore, we are told according to the word of our King, Psalms 37:3 “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”

Because to be led away by our anger to become like the world, we with the wicked will be uprooted from the land. However, if we wait and trust the Lord, and if we lend ourselves to his authority knowing he has our best interest at heart considering our sufferings. We will dwell in the land forever and be fed for eternity.
